The “Windsor” suspended bridge has already been inaugurated to the public. Its conception, manufacture and assembly were entrusted to iMuntanya. The difficult location of the bridge, which did not allow access with machinery or helicopter, was what made the Gibraltar authorities put the project in the hands of our technicians and specialized personnel.<\/p>\n
The bridge was conceived as a part of the programme to improve the Upper Rock area (Gibraltar). Now this area is an attraction for tourists, thanks to the construction of the footbridge, which has allowed place value on the set of natural trails, whch have been converted for a family use along with the placement of information panels. Thanks to the bridge, areas of historical interest have been reopened to the public, which has encouraged tourism and, as Tourism Minister Samantha Sacramento said, “the bridge is an innovative attraction, as it is a magnificent product and a wonderful improvement for Gibraltar.”<\/p>\n
As with the restored walks and trails, the suspended bridge -iMuntanya’s Pyrenees Model, offers residents and tourists the opportunity to experience a new Gibraltar, which is aimed at a less sedentary public and which demands more outdoor adventure. <\/p>\n
The walkway, which is 80 meter long and is located on a 50-meters gorge in the Upper Rock area, was officially inaugurated by Chief Minister Fabian Picardo last June 22nd.<\/p>\n
Due to its importance for the promotion of tourism as well as hiking routes and outdoor leisure, said inauguration has had great impact on the local media.<\/p>\n
