We have started 2019 with a suspended bridge in Salardú, in the Aran Valley. Designed from the Urals Model of iMuntanya, it extends 17 meters long over the Unhola River and connects Salardú with the district of Unha. With this equipment, which makes part of a new path created in the forest of Ribera, neighbours can avoid the road and walk from one neighbourhood to another enjoying a walk through nature.
In addition, a picnic corner has been installed, with tables and chairs, next to the Unhola River for when the good weather arrives.
Unlike other bridges built by us, the platform of this model has been made with metallic framework, type tramex, thinking about the seasons of snow. With this platform, the accumulation of snow is more difficult, which allows its use throughout the year. In order to integrate it better into the environment, we have replaced the pillars on the right bank with direct anchors to the slope and have built dry stone walls, made of local material, on the access ramps.
We are grateful for the collaboration of TAFF in the transport of equipment and materials in the work area and for the trust placed in iMuntanya by Salardú’s Town Council.
Salardú’s new footbridge is ready for the snow…
And is ready for the warmer seasons with areas for picnic.
